The Power of Citizen Science to Help BC Native Bees

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Dunbar Branch

Description

Learn how you can be a citizen scientist hero who helps make B.C. a healthy place for bees, butterflies and birds. Artist and educator Lori Weidenhammer, aka Madame Beespeaker, will give you the tools to add scientific observations to iNaturalist, a place to collect photos you take of bees and flowers in public parks, gardens and your own back yard. By posting flowers that bees visit, we can learn more about the seasonal life cycles of the plants that supply nectar and pollen to our precious pollinators.

Feed your body, mind and soul by heading outdoors to study and support B.C.’s beautiful native bees.
