Radix presents: The Library Show

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Central Library

Description

"Without the library, you have no civilization." - Ray Bradbury

"Without civilization, you have no library." - The Radix Collective

Local theatre company Radix presents The Library Show, a kaleidoscopic sonic tour through the physical and metaphysical levels of the Central Library.

Small groups of participants will wear wireless headphones to explore the building's many spaces to an array of sounds — live conversations, AI podcast simulacra, Wittgenstein as read by children and everything in between. The show invites us to ask: What is everyone looking for? Is philosophy like trying to use a can opener from the inside of the can? Is it legal to have two brothers named David?

--

The Library Show will take place every weekend in October, with performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 and 3 pm. Each performance will take only a handful of participants, so please register in advance for the specific time and date you want to attend. Drop-ins are welcome if there's available spots on a given performance.

Performances begin by the main entrance doors, inside the library's covered atrium. Please check in with Radix staff there if you are registered or want to drop in.

Accessibility: this performance involves following actors through the Central Library while wearing headphones, so it is best suited for patrons who are comfortable walking for an hour.
