Enjoy free jazz-ish concerts every Thursday afternoon in July on the Central Library’s picturesque rooftop terrace!
Formed in the spring of 2004, Brejera began when Mario Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Trevor Murray (Nova Scotia, Canada) started to experiment with samba and choro music together. From that point on, the band has been serving up traditional samba, baião, frevo, choro, and more all around the lower mainland and beyond. Currently, Brejera's lineup features Mario Silva on 7 string guitar/vocals, Trevor Murray on cavaquinho/vocals, Bruno Matos on pandeiro/vocals, Steve Bagnell on sax and Aiko Sato on trombone. Brejera is sure to thrill both long-time fans and first time listeners with Brazil's rich musical heritage.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear world class musicians performing in one of Vancouver's most beautiful public spaces.
