Chris Bose is a writer, musician and multi-disciplinary artist hailing from Kamloops, B.C. A member of the Nlaka’pamux and Secwepemc Nations, Chris has been a professional storyteller for almost 30 years.
As the Indigenous Storyteller in Residence this year, Chris is planning on taking his music and storytelling on the road to various VPL branches. The first stop on his tour will be at VPL’s Carnegie branch early in the day with a second stop later in the afternoon at nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona branch.
The public is invited to join in and listen to stories about Chris’ life touring on the road, his approach to storytelling and the programs that he has coming up at the library.

2) nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona Branch in the Wo Soon (Mary) Lee Chan (WSA) Room at 2:30-3:30pm

Chris' work has been published in a variety of publications and exhibited in galleries. He has also shared traditional Nlaka’pamux and Secwepemc stories at schools, festivals, and cultural events across Canada.
During his residency, Bose will spend part of the time developing a series of Nlaka’pamux and Secwepemc short stories and working on a new digital project featuring works in the horror, comedy, and traditional genres.
