Zhang Ling is the acclaimed author of ten novels, including A Single Swallow and Where Waters Meet, the first two books of her Children of War trilogy. In these works she explores the themes of war, trauma, and human courage. Zhang Ling has said she was born to be a writer and has been inspired by survival stories all through her life. She will talk about her work and writing practice with Renren Yang, Assistant Professor in Modern Chinese Popular Culture at the University of British Columbia.
