The Inspiration Lab is proud to present this Creator Series event featuring graphic artist Tracy Hetherington, who will reveal how she designed the book cover for My Indian Summer, the award-winning novel by 2024 VPL Indigenous Storyteller in Residence, Joseph Kakwinokanasum.
What makes a book cover stand out on a shelf? How do you visually communicate a feeling that draws a reader towards opening a book? These are questions Tracy thinks about as she walks through libraries and bookstores. She’ll discuss visual symbolism, typography, and other design considerations for creating effective book covers.
