Mandi Gray: Suing for Silence

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Central Library

Description

How is the law (mis)used to keep victims silent?

In her new book Suing for Silence, professor Mandi Gray looks at how defamation lawsuits are used against women who are trying to speak out against sexual violence and to protect the powerful men who wield them. The #MeToo movement cast a spotlight on the issue—this book asks what we can do to protect those who take centre stage to speak up.

Mandi Gray will appear in conversation with lawyer Raji Mangat
