After 14 years of drawing Savage Chickens comics, Doug Savage has learned a thing or two about telling a joke. In this workshop, he’ll show you how he writes and draws funny comic strips, and he’ll get you to draw some of your own. Topics include brainstorming exercises, humour writing techniques, and the special considerations of traditional 4-panel gag comics.
If you would like to request American Sign Language interpretation for this workshop, please contact email@example.com.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Doug Savage’s first graphic novel, Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy, was published in September 2016. It’s about a moose who shoots lasers out of his eyes and his rabbit sidekick. The sequel, Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy: Disco Fever, came out in October 2017. He’s now working on the third book in the series, Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy: Time Trout! Savage is also the creator of the popular comic Savage Chickens, which he publishes every weekday.
