Book Club Selections 2011-2012
Annotation:We were evenly split on this one - half of us LOVED it, the other half were completely ambivalent! Fantasy readers should give it a try.
Annotation:We felt like we really got to know Carole, Joni and Carly on a personal level. It was very interesting to read about what was going on in their lives while they were writing and performing songs that would become generation defining classics. Biography fans will enjoy this book.
Annotation:This reviews on this one were varried - some club members really enjoyed it while others were lukewarm. Leonard's style is very cinematic, you can easily see the stories translating to the screen. We would recommend this to mystery lovers.
Annotation:This book prompted a lot of discussion about women's issues in general, and the Jewish faith. An interesting interpretation of a briefly mentioned biblical figure. Worth the read.
Annotation:A nice light (and fast!) read for the holiday season. The perfect selection for this busy time of year.
Annotation:A piece of classic American lit, this book was enjoyed by all of our book club members. Mark Twain's definitely stands the test of time.
