Add a CommentIf you like the Percy Jackson series, you will like this one, too. Like Percy Jackson, the adventure is based on mythological and historical characters existing behind the scenes of the present day. Good story,well written. My only complaint is that the book can't stand on its own. I think the author meant the ending to be a cliffhanger, but it felt more like the author just stopped writing because he needed a place to stop before the next book.
it is an ok book
It is ok. the writing is a little immature. The ideas are interesting though. I think he should re-write the series. I would certainly read it if he does!
i placed on hold on this book, but it took me awhile cause i couldn't figure out which was this first one! 8}
This is an amazing series! This is my second time reading it and even though the first book isn't as good as the others you have to keep reading it!
I love looking back at this page because I've already finished the series. Keep on reading! It's a great series!
A-MA-ZING!!!!!!!!!!
Though I found this book's plot quite engaging, which led me to read the next book in the series, Scott's writing style is slightly immature, with repeating vocabulary and choppy sentences that do not always flow well, for example. This book is appropriate for a much younger audience; therefore, well-read individuals will find that Scott's writing distracts from his interesting plotlines.
great book
I recently finished reading "The Alchemist" and i liked how the author used a lot of real events and characters in the story (e.g the great fire if 1666 in London in the book was because of Dee setting loose a fire elemental trying to catch them). If there's anyone out there looking for a new series you've found it.
