I also love how the author created a character who is Asian and doesn't white-wash him. There's enough references to the Asian things in Alvin's life without it being too heavy, or too trite. Really a perfect balance.
Alvin Ho! Great book. You will be laughing along with your kids. My 8 year olds love Alvin Ho. My husband loves Alvin Ho. We quote Alvin Ho! Funny funny :)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid move over for Alvin Ho. Second-grader Alvin is afraid of heights, spiders, and tornados. He loves superheroes, digging holes and his family. He carries around a PDK (personal disaster kit) including instructions for making friends and avoiding bears. Scaredy Squirrel fans will love it. I couldn't stop laughing.
