Add a CommentI'm not sure how to rate this movie. I am way too biased against it because I feel there was a lot of lost potential. It was fun, tragic and entertaining, but it could have been much better.
one of the best films I've seen in a while
A superb example of how different European cinema is from Hollywood. It's hard to imagine this movie being nearly as great in an American filmmaker's hands. It works because it doesn't take a stand or try to "send a message" about gender identity -- it simply tells a story. And the child actors are incredibly natural and engaging.
