And they are what Hesher ... brings into the lives of TJ ... and his father Paul ... when he takes up residence in the garage uninvited. Grief-stricken by the loss of TJ's mother, Paul can't muster the strength to evict the strange squatter, and soon the long-haired, tattooed Hesher becomes a fixture in the household. Like a force of nature, Hesher's anarchy shakes the family out of their grief and helps them embrace life once more"--Container.

This is a pretty offensive movie. Don't believe what it says on the box about being funny. There is not one moment in it that could be considered funny. There's a reason why you never hear about some movies and there are good reasons why this one wasn't a success.
really awesome, super WOW movie!
Definitely one of my favourite movies, I've never seen anything quite like it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something truly unique with a good story, not so much for a comedy. That being said, it does have it's hilarious moments and the acting is top notch
Hesher is kind of like a demented, slightly sadistic version of Mary Poppins. I really enjoyed it.
If you don't like this movie you are over 50 or don't get it. Worth seeing and fun to watch.
JGL is brilliant in this. So funny, I didn't even recognize him. You can't take your eyes off him = star. Never know what he's going to do next so plot keeps you guessing.
drama (w/some comedy). The movie is about dealing w/loss by not dealing with it, then by being distracted and not knowing your dealing with it only to end with all parties being focused on the necessary items. Remember in school when the over-head came on. First a transparancy to start and then another one laid over, well this is like the movie (family w/Hesher laid over top) two opposites who somehow manage to work it out and no one dies.
movie of the decade ? no movie of the whole century
This was a really dumb, boring and stupid movie. Waste of time - Waste of Electrical power.
